Glenn Fraley of GCF Marketing is looking at so many emails daily about people that just know how to set up and affiliate program for your products. So, to try to get some help out there for those seeking it, here is a few good ideas to keep in mine.

At this point, we should all agree that you have to market the products you have to get the sales you need to generate income. So, having an effective strategy for advertising is an absolute must have. So, joining an affiliate program is probably one of the best ways to get there. However, you might now be in business and, for a good reason or another, you’ve decided that doing the affiliating yourself on your own is the best way to go. Or, you could even just be getting a start at it and developed an independent spirit that tells you to go do it for yourself or just not to do it period. In either case, you are able to begin your own affiliate program marketing your products on the internet. So, we can have an overview of how this can be done.

It’s all about matching like for like and creating a list of potential affiliate marketers. So, the beginning thing you need to do is make a choice on what websites out there can offer the form of traffic that will want to buy your products. For example, if you’re selling swinn bicycles, you don’t want to contact a website that discusses robotics. This just wouldn’t be a wise choice as an affiliate marketer. You would be much better off choosing websites with matching or comparable subject matter for your products. A website discussing fitness, or cycling, is a far better fit of a lead for you to follow.

Now, when you have set down and put together your list, you are going to have to develop a solid sales letter to get out to each site’s webmaster. When this is done, be sure to include all of the selling points on your proposal, and information on what commission you are offering for the sales they generate. Be very good in proofreading the letter well, as this will be you one shot for a quality impression. Send the letters out.

Once you’ve signed on some affiliate marketers, you’ll need affiliate software to keep track of the sales generated, and how much commission you need to pay. Then you will be responsible for cutting the commission checks and sending them out. An alternative to managing all of this yourself is to enlist the services of a third-party affiliate tracker. This company will manage the tracking of sales and the distribution of commissions for you. Either option will work.

In either case, running your own affiliate marketing system to sell your products will give you the control over how and where your advertisements are placed. The other big plus is controlling who is directing the traffic flow to your site. Something you should take into consideration, this is more work than having an affiliate program run it for you. But if you are sure of what you want to do, this is the way to do it.
